What Executor is

Executor is a record keeping and guidance tool for people acting as executors or administrators of an estate in England and Wales. It gives general information about the usual steps. It does not give legal, tax or financial advice, and it does not prepare or submit probate or inheritance tax papers on your behalf.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for the decisions you make as executor and for checking that figures, dates and forms are correct. Calculations in the app, including the inheritance tax estimate and estate accounts, depend on what you enter and are estimates only.

When to get professional help

Speak to a probate solicitor if the will is disputed or unclear, there is a trust, the estate may not be able to pay its debts, inheritance tax is due, or anyone may make a claim against the estate.

Payment

Setting up an estate is free. The full estate is a monthly subscription per estate, charged in advance each month until you stop it. You can stop it at any time by marking the estate complete or through the billing page: payments end at the close of the month you've paid for, and after that the estate stays readable but can't be changed. Deleting an estate stops its subscription straight away. Liability
